Paul Farinha And The Practice
Paul Farinha was admitted in September 1992 and has been in private practice since such date. Having served articles in a medium sized firm in Kempton Park, he relocated to a practice in Braamfontein to take up partnership during 1993.
In March 1998 he started his own practice and has remained as a sole practitioner since such time.
During his years of practice he has been involved in a number of different matters and dealt with a variety of issues. The practice centres around a core client base that he has retained for more than 20 years, Pau has grown with his clients offering assistance in a number of different areas of law.

The firm, supported and guided by Paul's experienced hand is involved and has been involved in numerous litigation matters, both as Plaintiff and Defendant. The firm also offers guidance and assistance with the following areas:
- Litigation — High and Magistrates Court. Having acted for both many Plaintiffs and Defendants, the offices can provide the assistance needed to prosecute or defend a claim;
- Divorces — Opposed and unopposed;
- Drafting of Agreements — a large range of commercial agreements have been settled and concluded including such issues as Leases, Sale of Business; Sale of Shares, Sale of Member's Interest; Partnership creation and dissolution; Employment Contracts; Shareholder Agreements; Non-Disclosure Agreements; Restraint of Trade: Wills and numerous other agreements;
- Labour matters — Including CCMA and Labour Court attendances, settlement negotiations and employment issues;
- Living Trusts — including guidance and assistance with the formation and administration of Trusts, the drafting of Trust Deeds designed to meet the client's specific needs and demands;
- Estate Administration — including assistance to the family and heirs in resolving matters in an efficient and controlled manner;
- Company Formation — Holding a number of shelf companies for immediate needs, we can assist with the formation of Companies including the drafting of an MOI to meet the client's specific needs and wishes taking into consideration all relevant factors;
- Insolvency matters — including the liquidation of companies and close corporations and the voluntary sequestration of individuals proceeding either by way of resolution or Court Application;
- Trade Mark Registration — offering advice on the registration of a client's trade mark and the processes required to achieve the protection of a client's rights in this regard;
- Property advice — having been partnered and associated with conveyancing practices for many years, we are able to assist with the conclusion of agreements for the sale of property and general advice on the processes to be followed, the conveyancing being out-sourced to conveyancing practices with whom we are associated;
- General advise — providing clients with advice on resolving personal and business disputes and giving guidance as to how these issues can be resolved in the most economic and practical manner.
Paul Farinha has also concluded a course to be able to assist and advise clients with regard to Business Rescue Proceedings in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008.
Guidance as to the viability of these proceedings taking into consideration the current status and economic standing of the entity involved.
In addition, Mr Farinha has completed the course required to assist with Court Annexed Mediation and is firm believer that most opposed matters can be resolved by way of mediation and / or arbitration and will always attempt to resolve matters on this basis before becoming involved in litigation.
With the experience and knowledge gathered over the years of practice, the firm makes every effort to keep abreast of new developments in the law and providing clients with relevant and up to date advice.
With the knowledge that we cannot be expected to know all areas of the law, we will guide clients to our network of professionals in areas where we know that we cannot assist to ensure that clients always receive the best advice possible.
MICHELLE RODRIGUES
Attorney
Michelle obtained her LLB degree from the University of Witwatersrand in 2013.
She joined the firm in 2014 where she commenced with her contract of articles.
She currently assists Mr Farinha in his litigation practice and has acquired knowledge in an array of legal fields; and has a passion for Family Law.

CHANTAL CHRISTOFI
Attorney
Chantal obtained a BA and a LLB degree from the University of Johannesburg. Her articles were carried out at a Law Firm in Bedfordview where after she was admitted as an Attorney in 2014.
Chantal specialises in general litigation matters for the Magistrate’s Court and High Court as well as family law matters; and has a keen interest in Medical Law.
She began working for Paul Farinha Attorneys in 2014.
